Was getting more exercise one of your New Year’s Resolutions? How about meeting new people? We can help you keep both! The folk tradition known as contra dancing has been around since pioneer days because it’s as easy as it is enjoyable. All the dances are taught and called, and we can teach you everything you need to know during a half-hour lesson.
At Saturday’s dance, local caller Richard Ades will lead a program that beginners and experienced dancers alike will find fun and invigorating. Adding the indispensable element of live music, the Athens-based band Trillium will keep us moving with its sparkling acoustic tunes.
So come and join us! Whether by yourself, in a couple or in a group, we’d love to meet you. Admission is $8 ($7 for Big Scioty members), $4 ($3) for ages 12-26, free for children under 12.
