Dave Notman is best known as the Columbus contra community’s hard-working “sound guy,” but he’s also a caller and proficient dance writer. Those talents will be on display Saturday night when he shares the stage with the Brickersons, an Athens-based band that will be bringing its pleasant sounds to Big Scioty for the very first time.
Beginners welcome! Contra dance is an American folk tradition that is both fun and easy to learn. It’s also a great way to meet people and a painless way to get in a little exercise. Just arrive at 7:30 p.m. for a quick lesson, and you’ll be ready and eager to hit the dance floor!
Admission is $8 ($7 for Big Scioty members), $4 ($3) for ages 12-26, free for children under 12.
