Big Scioty will wrap up its 2022-23 season with Brickersons of the Hock, an Irish-flavored band that has long been a regular presence at the annual Dublin Irish Festival (you may know them as Boys of the Hock). The enthusiastic calling will be provided by Cincinnati’s Liz Burkhart, returning to Columbus for the first time since before the pandemic. See you there!

Brad Sowash on bass, mandolin and penny whistle
Bryn Sowash on guitar
Ed Newman on hammered dulcimer

WHEN: Saturday, April 1, 8-10:30 p.m. If you’re new to contra or feel a bit rusty, plan to arrive at 7:30 p.m. for a quick and easy lesson.

WHERE: Clinton Heights Lutheran Church, 15 Clinton Heights Ave., Columbus (on the southeast corner of High Street one block south of North Broadway). Parking is available behind the church and on nearby streets.

ADMISSION: $10 ($7 for members), $5 for ages 12-26 ($3 for members), free for children under 12. Memberships are $12/year.

COVID health protocols: All dancers must wear an effective mask such as an N95, KN95, KF94 or a blue disposable mask. (To ask about other acceptable masks, email bigsciotycontra@gmail.com.) If needed, masks will be provided for free (first mask) or $1 (subsequent masks).

SNACKS, etc.: Treats are welcome and may be left on our snack table to share. Please bring a reusable water bottle for your own use.
