Big Scioty is having a special July dance! We usually do not hold dances in the summer, but Mark Barsamian is having a family reunion and wants to share contra joy with his family! This dance is co-sponsored by Mark Barsamian and Carey Snyder (and Big Scioty!) We are returning to our previous location for this dance only. Join us as we dance to the music the talented Athens-based trio Trillium, consisting of Mark Barsamian on fiddle, Mark Delozier on piano and Zeke Hutchison on mandolin. Darlene Underwood will be providing her friendly, cheerful calling expertise!

The band Trillium plays music for contradance on traditional instruments: fiddle, mandolin, acoustic piano. Most of the tunes they play are traditional, as well, and are played in multiple folk music worlds, such as Bluegrass, Old-Time, English Country Dance, Celtic, French Canadian. More info about the band can be found on the band’s FB page: https://www.facebook.com/TrilliumContradanceBand
