Are dancers comfortable with returning to the dance floor? That was the question Big Scioty asked our community via a survey, and enough dancers said they would be comfortable dancing together if all attendees were fully vaccinated that we felt confident to hold a small dance on July 24. The dance was attended by 44 vaccinated dancers; music was provided by Mark Delozier on piano and Mark Barsamian on fiddle; callers were Richard Ades and Margaret Goodman; sound provided by Dave Notman. It was so wonderful to see each other again!
The big question on everyone’s mind is – can we do this again? What about Winter WarmUp? And the answer is…we don’t know. With the Delta variant rapidly spreading, we aren’t sure at this point. However, you can still be added to the list of approved dancers by sending a photo of your vaccination card to Marilyn Fais at sherm415@aol.com (you can cover up any info you don’t want to share). She will add you and your email to the list and delete your card info.
And, on Aug. 7, join us at the Shadblow shelter at Blendon Woods from 4:00 – 9:00 pm for a potluck gathering. If you are uncomfortable sharing food, you may bring your own. We will have some coolers with ice and paper plates, cups, and plastic utensils. You might want to bring a chair in case the picnic benches fill up. No need to RSVP or provide proof of vaccination since we will be outside.
